Tips to create beautiful pins your buyers will love

Keep your audience in mind; Pinterest is used by more females, it’s more creative, and generally more design-focused than Facebook. Spend some time getting lost in Pinterest boards related to your niche – you will soon pick up on what kind of content resonates the most with that audience. Keep it pretty, not aggressive; designs should be cute, pretty and simple, with lots of color.

Pro Tip: Keep the seasons in mind; for Spring/Summer feature more tank tops and tees and in Fall/Winter showcase your designs on sweatshirts and long-sleeve tees.

Make sure your descriptions are helpful, positive and personal. Oftentimes, Pinners are on the platform looking for ideas and planning for things to buy. Make sure your pins help these users by including all relevant information for your products. This will not only help qualify the clicks you generate, but may also improve conversion rates! Lastly, be sure to add very clear calls-to-action to entice people to click through and buy from Pinterest, for example:

  • Free Shipping – Buy Today!
  • Shop Now!

Pro Tip: In early tests, we’ve found that campaigns offering promo codes drive higher conversion rates than campaigns without. Free shipping, in particular, is the Pinterest user’s promo code of choice! Make sure if you’re going to implement that you highlight this in the description copy.

Collect and share images from buyers

Whenever possible try to pin & share photos of your supporters and like their pins– encourage Pinterest users to post their own images of the items they’ve purchased from your campaign. This is a great way to get people excited about your products and you can use this content to promote other campaigns in the future.
