How digital products work

How are my profits calculated for digital products?

Your profit margin depends on the product’s selling price. Teespring’s processing fee is 10% of the selling price, plus a $0.40 charge. For example, if you sell a Lightroom Preset at $10, you’d earn a profit of $8.60 per sale once the $1.40 fee is applied. Whenever you create the digital product, you’re earning pure profit since there are no inventory costs involved!

What should be the retail sale price (RSP) of my digital product?

The selling price of your digital product really depends on what you are selling. Wallpapers range between $2.99 and $9.99 and coloring pages or books between $5.99 and $12.99. See examples of digital products that have been already launched and decide on pricing you feel comfortable with and make sense for your product. Make sure to take into consideration time spent creating it and consider what kind of value it offers to your community.

Why was my listing disabled?

All products for sale on Teespring (including digital products) must comply with Teespring’s Terms of Service, our Intellectual Property Policy, and our Acceptable Use Policy. Once you upload and publish a digital product for sale, it could be pulled down if it’s reported to us as violating our policies. Your product may have been removed for several reasons, for example:

  • it contains infringing content such as another brand’s trademarks or other intellectual property
  • It contains prohibited content, such as nudity or offensive material.

If you believe that your product was removed by mistake, please contact us at [email protected].

What digital products should I sell?

You can create just about any digital product to sell to your community using Teespring. Tailor your products to your audiences’ interests and needs. Think about the kind of content you share, your brand, and the value you can offer your fans through downloadable content. Check out this blog for inspiration and tips for creating your first digital product.

What is the return policy for digital products?

For questions about return policy on digital products and more information on the side of your community, visit the digital products FAQ on the answers page.

Can I add digital products to my existing store?

Creators can add digital product listings on their current stores. Digital products exist in the same marketplace as physical merch. Digital products can be placed within their own product category on your storefront, allowing your community to find them right away.

Can I sell music or audio files?

In order to sell music or other audio files, you must own the rights to that content or have a license to distribute it. If you’re already working with a distributor, they may require that all digital distribution be done through them. Please carefully review your content and be sure that you comply with the terms of your agreement with your distributor when selling audio files on Teespring. Teespring is not responsible for your violation of intellectual property rights or breach of any agreements you may have with third parties, and all liability for such breach will fall on you.
