Enjoy more control over who can see your listings

Teespring’s latest update gives you more control over the visibility of your listings and products. Now you can make your products visible to everyone (public), a select group of people (unlisted), or only you and people with access to your Teespring account (private).

You can update a listing’s visibility within its settings. Just head to the ‘Listings’ section of your Teespring account and click the ‘Settings’ icon on your preferred listing. Next you’ll see the section where you can select public, private, or unlisted visibility.

Visibility settings and how to use them

Now you have three different visibility settings to choose from.

Public

Public listings can be seen by and shared with anyone. Depending on your account preferences  they will also show up in search results, marketplaces, Youtube merch shelf, Twitch merch store etc. Note that a listing must be set to public if you want it to appear within your YouTube merch shelf and Twitch merch store. Use the public setting when you want as many people as possible to see your products.

Private

Private listings can only be seen by you and team members with access to your Teespring account. Your private listings won’t appear in search results, storefronts, YouTube merch shelf or the Twitch merch store. This setting is a great tool if you want to plan a big product launch. You can create your listings ahead of time and only make them visible when you’re ready to announce them. If you make a listing private you can add it to your store too and people won’t be able to see it until you make it public.

Keep in mind if you change a listing from private to public it can take up to 24 – 48 hours for the product to appear in your YouTube merch shelf and Twitch Merch Store. Also, when you make a listing private it can take up to 10 hours for the product to be removed from YouTube and Twitch.

Unlisted

Unlisted listings can be seen and shared by anyone with the link. However, these listings will not appear in marketplaces, search results, or the YouTube merch shelf and Twitch merch store. Utilize this setting when you want to share your listing with a select group of people—they’ll only be able to see your products if they have the link. Please note products of unlisted listings can still appear in storefronts so you’ll want to remove them from your store if you want to limit the people who can see them.

Using private visibility for massive ‘merch drops’

Merch drops have proven extremely successful and the new private visibility feature is the perfect tool to use. When a listing is set to private you’re able to launch your listing and preview it without anyone else knowing it exists. This setting is available in the launcher when you create a new product—you will see ‘Public’ is the default visibility setting, but you can select your preferred option from the drop down menu. Keep in mind you can also use this when updating an existing listing.

An example of a creator who utilized this tool successfully is graphic designer Twaz, who has a combined social following of 25K. He’s worked with names such as Adidas and Marvel as well as top creators like DrLupo and Jordan Fisher.

On August 8, 2019 Twaz dropped his streetwear brand called Endgame. After creating his designs, Twaz prepared and launched his products in the Teespring Launcher and set to ‘private’. This allowed him to launch all of his products, prepare his storefront, and create promotional assets ahead of time.  When he was ready to go live with the announcement, all he had to do was set his listings’ visibility to ‘Public’ and watch the sales roll in!

See some screenshots below how Twaz used social media to build hype ahead of the drop, which has proven to be a successful method of promotion. You can use any social media platform to promote your drops depending on your audience.

The first Endgame drop was announced a month in advance

Once the drop was live, the listings could be changed to Public

Whether you want to plan a merch drop or share your listings with select groups, this update will give you ultimate control over your listings!

Hi Prix, you can find your listings in the ‘listing’ section of your account. We would recommend using a computer for optimum experience

Hi again is there a way to store designs if you are not ready to publish them? Did some yesterday and now I’m unable to find them on the sight

    1. Lucy Ford says:

Hi Shauna, we don’t have the functionality to store designs but as this article says, you can create your products and set them to unlisted if you’re not ready to make them public yet.

How do I get my products visible for people to buy them and to make sales? What are all the steps to follow to finish the whole process?

Hello! Your listing needs to be set to public to be visible to all visitors to your storefront 🙂
